Bucep belongs to the family Araceae, and it is classified as a rare plant due to its beauty and scarcity. Normally, during the dry months in Indonesia, the streams often have little water flowing through, so Bucep grows on rocks. During the rainy season, when the water level rises and submerges the plants, Bucep adapts by changing to a submerged leaf form. Unlike other plants, the submerged leaves of Bucep come in a variety of vibrant colors; currently, we can find Bucep leaves in colors such as dark green, blue, purple, or black…

Currently, many different types of Bucep have been discovered in nature; you can learn more here. Bucep is not a cutting plant, so for it to grow and develop well, you should tie it to hard substrates like tree trunks or pebbles (using fishing line or green thread). Bucep is a plant that does not require much light, so using LED or fluorescent lights for the plants is fine.
Additionally, you should provide sufficient CO2 and O2 (at night) for the plant to photosynthesize and grow quickly. To enhance the coloration of Bucep, you should supplement trace elements for the plant, such as liquid fertilizers. Another important factor for Bucep to thrive is that your tank needs to maintain an ideal temperature, usually between 22-26°C. Therefore, people often keep Bucep in shrimp tanks, as the growth and reproduction conditions of shrimp are quite similar to those of Bucep (except for light and CO2 conditions).
WE HOPE THAT WITH THE KNOWLEDGE WE SHARE, YOU CAN GROW BEAUTIFUL BUCEPHALANDRA FOR YOUR AQUARIUM AT HOME!
