Here we guide you on how to assemble a glass aquarium without a frame for aquascaping:
First, place the aquarium and arrange the glass panels to fit into each other (Note: the bottom panel should fit inside the 4 side panels). Be sure to leave a gap of about 1mm to apply the silicone sealant.
Next, use tape to cover the edges of the glass around the panel. The purpose is to prevent the silicone sealant from smearing onto the outside of the glass after applying it.
Then, apply silicone sealant into the gap between the joints – we recommend using 300A silicone sealant (priced around 40k/1 tube). Before applying the sealant, use pliers to flatten the tip of the applicator to allow the sealant to flow evenly into the gap. Be careful to apply the sealant evenly and avoid creating bubbles while applying, and check that all gaps are filled with silicone sealant. After applying, scrape off any excess sealant from the edges. If you don’t scrape it off before it dries, it will be very difficult to remove later. Use clamps to hold the edges evenly. After securing with clamps, slowly remove the tape applied in step 2.
Typically, the sealant dries in 6 – 10 hours. However, to ensure the sealant is completely dry and its physical properties are not altered, we encourage you to let the aquarium set for 1 day. Remove the clamps and scrape off any excess silicone. Then fill the aquarium with water to check for any leaks. Continue to soak the aquarium for 1 day to observe if there are any damages that need to be repaired.
WISH YOU SUCCESS!
