+ Prepare the tools:

  • Scissors, pliers
  • White fishing line
  • Treated driftwood
  • Tongs.

You should choose a type of moss with long stems as it helps create softness. When submerged in water, it will give a graceful and smooth, natural movement.

+ Implementation

Place the moss in a clean bowl of water to prevent it from tangling together. This will make it easier to arrange the moss.

Use tongs to pick up the moss by the roots and evenly arrange it on the surface of the driftwood. Use the line to secure and fill the surface area of the driftwood.

Note: The line should be wrapped moderately to avoid breaking or slipping the moss. Secure the moss at both the root and tip. After placing the moss in the tank, you can remove the wrap at the tip to allow the moss to float naturally.

First, just like the method for attaching to driftwood, place the moss in a clean bowl of water. Then use tongs to pick up and arrange the moss to cover one side of the stone. However, it may be difficult to arrange in rows. Just arrange it to cover the surface evenly without overlapping. We also use string to secure the moss together.

+ Guide to attaching moss on round stones

For this type of stone, you need to prepare an additional piece of soft mesh fabric with mesh holes about 5mm.

First, spread the moss evenly over the surface of the round stone. Then cover it with the mesh and tie it neatly so that it looks more aesthetically pleasing and natural. Next, simply place the round stone in the appropriate position in the tank.

In addition to the methods above, we can also grow moss outside to allow it to root before placing it in the tank. But it is essential to regularly mist it to keep it moist or place it directly under a misting machine for the moss to thrive.
