Cuban pearl grass is one of the most beautiful carpet plants I believe is perfect for decorating the foreground of your aquarium! However, it also poses challenges for many experts due to its difficulty! Unlike pearl grass, Cuban pearl grass requires stronger cooling conditions! Therefore, for aquariums in cooler regions of our country, it will thrive easily. When planting it, you should aim for a tank temperature of 25-27°C for optimal growth! Exceeding this temperature will slow its growth and make it prone to black leaves.

Regarding nutrition, Cuban pearl grass does not have strict requirements for substrate nutrients, but some new substrates can cause root rot! Therefore, we recommend using a layer of old substrate on the surface to stabilize nutrients or using ADA substrate, which is a good nutrient-releasing substrate, so you can use it with confidence.
As for lighting! This plant prefers bright light, similar to Cuban pearl grass! For tanks 60cm or taller, you should use 4 T5HO bulbs to ensure adequate lighting needs in the tank.

Regarding CO2, this plant does not require a large amount of CO2! Therefore, for heavily planted tanks, a CO2 level of 4g/s while the lights are on will promote good growth and development!
Notably, this plant thrives in clean water, so make sure to use an effective filtration system and change the water regularly to keep the plant healthy!
Wishing you success!
