Care instructions
As one of the easy-to-grow aquatic plants, we also need to care for them to meet all their living conditions!
First, when planting the grass in the tank, we should space it evenly and plant it in the substrate about 2-3cm apart. Spacing it out helps the plant absorb nutrients evenly from the soil, and Pearl Grass will grow more uniformly!

After planting, we should add water slowly to avoid the plants floating above the water surface. Pearl Grass is a plant that does not require many nutrients but needs sufficient trace elements necessary for growth! Among them, beneficial bacteria are also important. Secondly, the water must be clear! so that light can penetrate to the bottom of the tank; therefore, you also need to pay attention to using an effective filtration system for the best growth of Pearl Grass.
Regarding lighting, for those using Odyssea lights, a 60cm tank or larger will benefit from two light fixtures to help Pearl Grass grow very quickly. For those using DIY LED lights or modified lights, you should refer to our article on Lighting in Aquatic Tanks to use light appropriately. Pearl Grass is a cutting plant that requires light from medium to very strong! When it gets enough light, it will spread beautifully across the tank; if the light is insufficient, the plant will show signs of rotting and will not spread along the substrate.
In addition to the above factors, CO2 is one of the elements that help Pearl Grass grow quickly and beautifully. For tanks of 100-150L, the CO2 must be fully dissolved in water at 1-1.5 g/s; for tanks over 150L, the fully dissolved CO2 must be at least 2g/s for tanks with few plants and 3g/s for heavily planted tanks.
When you ensure balance and sufficiency in all the above conditions, you can absolutely have a beautiful Pearl Grass carpet.

WISH YOU SUCCESS!
