Planting techniques
- There are 2 types of planting methods:
+ Attach to a stone substrate
+ Attach to a filter substrate
To secure to the substrate, growers can choose aquatic glue, thread, or fishing line. However, if using aquatic glue, only a small amount should be used to bond the substrate and the aroid stem together.
- Attach pangolino directly to the filter
If the aquarium is newly set up, do not immediately attach the aroid to the substrate or glue it to the aquarium. Note that for aquatic aroids with emersed leaves purchased from stores, you must be careful to avoid the plants easily rotting.
The cause of rotting may be due to the aquarium’s microbiome not being in a stable state, causing the aroid to be unable to adapt in time.
- Let the aquatic aroid float freely before attaching to the submerged substrate
Make sure to remove all aroids from the pot and detach all adhering substrates. Be very gentle when removing the root branches, and let the floating plants drift on the water for about 6-7 days. If there are too many roots, it is necessary to trim some of the emersed roots.
After that, continue to let them float until the aroid has white root tips before planting.
