Collection of Aquascaping Design Ideas
Sample 1. Basic Mini Aquascape
This is a simple aquascaping design for you to start participating in this hobby. Prepare a small tank with a capacity of 40 – 50 liters of water. Combine gravel, stones, and a bit of substrate. Try planting a few easy-to-grow aquatic mosses and experience it.

Sample 2. Bonsai Aquascape Layout
Use a large piece of driftwood or create a bonsai tree from small branches of driftwood. Use some types of aquatic moss such as: Mini Taiwan Moss, Mini Fiss Moss, Weeping Moss, Usfiss Moss, Flame Moss… to create the canopy of the Bonsai tree.

They will create a stunning visual impact and make your aquascape look like an ancient landscape.
Sample 3. Aquascape Using Stones + Sand + Moss (Iwagumi)
Iwagumi is an aquascaping style where stones are the only layout material. However, you can add a bit of greenery to break the dull gray of the stones. The style is simple and looks very peaceful.

Follow the traditional style by placing an odd number of stones in your arrangement. Focus on asymmetry in the arrangement to make it look more natural.
Sample 4. Only Plant Moss for the Tank
If you love a lush green aquascape, then this idea is for you.
Moss will green up your tank and also help improve its water quality. Combine them with decorative items like stones and driftwood. Your underwater moss garden is ready!

Some great aquatic moss types to consider are Java Moss, Peacock Moss, and String Moss.
Sample 5. Waterfall Layout
Creating a waterfall in an aquascape is entirely possible. Create your own underwater waterfall using an air pump circulating endlessly over white sand. Build a magical scene using fake bonsais, driftwood, and aquatic plants. Add sand and stones to fill in the gaps.

Sample 6. Tank Designed with Stones and Sand
This is a design idea for a beautiful aquascape using only stones and sand. However, stones can alter the pH in your tank, making it difficult for your plants and fish to survive. Therefore, use suitable aquatic stones like seiryu stone, dragon stone, elephant skin stone, temple stone.

Tip: Create a mountain range-themed layout. But do not mix and match your stones, otherwise, it will look unnatural.
