On October 21, 2017, we watched ADA hold a ceremony to announce the winning lakes as every year. The ceremony was quite solemn and majestic as is the competition’s tradition, bringing together many participating countries and a very large number. The prize is also extremely large ~ 200 million VND. Regarding other art subjects, the West seems to be quite strong, but in terms of art subjects, they appear to be quite weak.
This year the home team brought many beautiful tanks with very impressive styles. No less competitive are the tanks of aquascapers in China. They seem to really like the Hardscape tanks which come in quite impressive models. Our Vietnamese delegation this year participating in this year’s competition is quite large, but the number of winning tanks is somewhat more limited than last year.
The trend of aquarium models this year is mostly returning to the “Forest” style like every year. Some tanks that combine rocks and plants are limited in quantity.
About the tanks that achieved high rankings this year:
Honor prize: Style combining driftwood and stone. Plant mainly moss and ferns. Use tall cut plants for the background. Create depth for the composition. This trend is quite popular, but creating creativity and highlighting the theme of the tank is quite difficult. Not everyone can do it.
Bronze prize: (Top 5 – top 7): The pools are quite impressive. Including Mr. Truong Thinh Ngo’s tank. He excelled in bringing the image of Son Doong cave to friends and international tourists through the theme of his aquarium. Like every year, his tank is still the main combination of Stone with a very subtle expression in the color scheme of the plants. Besides, the combination of light is also a part of making the tank deeper and more prominent.

Sliver prize: (Top 3 – Top 4) Not like every year! Finishing in the top 4 made us quite upset when we missed out on the championship. This year, the top 3 – 4 pools do not make much of an impression because of their creativity. However, we can see that the work of the two artisans is quite meticulous and elaborate on quite small parts of the tank.

Gold prize: Top 2 – This is a tank that I personally find very impressive due to its depth. The main composition is made of dry tree stumps combined with small driftwood like ancient trees. In the distance there is a small gap creating depth. As for the plants, they are quite simple, but when combined, they fit very well.

Brand prize: Top 1 – The top 1 tank as always does not disappoint us at all when the combination of everything is quite perfect. The author is quite interested in both the details and the general layout of the tank. In terms of theme, you can see that this tank’s theme is quite similar to Fukada in the top 1 tank of 2015. The tank makes us feel like we are at the edge of a tropical forest with ancient trees growing along the roadside. Besides, there are small trees that also create perfect depth for the tank. From the trees in the foreground to the stone arrangement in the background, we can see how elaborate and detailed it is.

IAPLC is a great competition. But the truth is that in recent years, the blooming of Vietnamese aquatic life has not been able to have a worthy result like before. Hopefully in the near future, Vietnamese aquatic life will steadily progress to achieve the highest rankings in the coming years.
