A Vampire’s Veil

A nano tank layout featuring A Vampire’s Veil, Water Volume: 12L L, by Jascha Gusmeroli. The composition is built around Maple Stone with Elm Branches.

The hardscape with Maple Stone sets the rhythm; planting should support those lines without burying them. On the plant side, the layout leans toward a mixed planting with species such as Ficus pumila, Solanum evolvulifolium, Marcgravia — trim in layers so hardscape still breathes. Clayballs (leca), Organic soil mix, quartz sand substrate helps stabilize root-zone nutrition in the early weeks.

Sinkor Optima 30cm lighting sits at a approachable technical level for this nano tank. A small waterfall pump for flow. Biologically filtered through the substrate system filtration needs enough turnovers without blasting the hardscape; browse matching filters. Low-tech tip: favor slow growers and avoid dense planting if filtration is modest.

With Geosesarma Notophorum (White Mandarin Vampire Crabs), Folsomia candida, Porcellio scaber, watch bioload: a nano tank drifts quickly if stocking is heavy.
