A large aquarium layout featuring 舒适的森林, Shūshi de sēnlin “Cozy Forest”, 191L, by Hayley Zimmermann. Bamboo Leaves and Catappa Leaves set the depth lines of the frame.

Plastic Egg Crate, Expanding Foam, Aquarium Sealant, Thai Cutch Bark, Cinnamon Bark, Malaysian Driftwood, Sieryu Stone. substrate helps stabilize root-zone nutrition in the early weeks.

Fluval 3.0 LED lighting sits at a approachable technical level for this large aquarium. Low-tech tip: favor slow growers and avoid dense planting if filtration is modest.

NotesThe inspiration for this paludarium has solely revolved around the choice to keep these Newts from start to finish. They are native to the Yunnan Provence in southwestern China, and I found myself continually drawn to the vastness and simplicity of the Shilin Stone Forest where many reside. This is my vision of their environment in situ, in the drainage ponds below these ancient limestone formations.
