Rawa Hitam Sebangau

A nano tank layout featuring Rawa Hitam Sebangau, 12L, by Donny Istiawan. The composition is built around Peat Moss for Substrate with Longan Trunk.

The hardscape with Peat Moss for Substrate sets the rhythm; planting should support those lines without burying them.

Dry LED lamp 30cm lighting sits at a approachable technical level for this nano tank. Hang On Filter filtration needs enough turnovers without blasting the hardscape; browse matching filters. Low-tech tip: favor slow growers and avoid dense planting if filtration is modest.

Lighting, filtration, substrate, and plant details sit in the specs table below, or browse more layouts in Biotope.

NotesSebangau is a national park area in Central Kalimantan, in the forest there are small swamps which are the habitat of several wild bettas such as betta hendra, betta foerschi and several rasboras.
The characteristic of the swamp is that it has black water because it has a peat substrate that has been submerged for a long time. Some of the plants there are water guava, rambutan, longan which are often consumed by protected orangutans. I then used some parts of this tree as hardscape.Source
