Forest in a Bowl

A nano tank layout featuring Forest in a Bowl, 23.5L, by Jay Kanashiro. Fluval Stratum and Dragon Stone set the depth lines of the frame.

Hardscape (Fluval Stratum, Dragon Stone, Pacific wood.) forms the skeleton — negative space between wood and stone guides the eye from foreground to depth. On the plant side, the layout leans toward mosses and epiphytes with species such as Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo', riccia fluitans, Fissidens Fontanus — trim in layers so hardscape still breathes. light strip substrate helps stabilize root-zone nutrition in the early weeks.

3K light bulb lighting sits at a approachable technical level for this nano tank. Mini Nicrew Internal Filter 53 GPH 5W filtration needs enough turnovers without blasting the hardscape; browse matching filters. Low-tech tip: favor slow growers and avoid dense planting if filtration is modest.

Livestock (Blue Neo Caridina Shrimp) fits this nano tank — prefer species that will not dig up the substrate and wreck hardscape lines.

Setup notes: Injected CO2, supplemented liquid fertilizer, and water changes.

Also since this is a bowl it is not 6 Gallons but 3.3 Gallons but it would not let me submit with the right volume. The images were cropped from video files.
