Five Stones

A nano tank layout featuring Five Stones, 19 L, by Justin Schiess. The composition is built around Rhino stone.

The hardscape with Rhino stone sets the rhythm; planting should support those lines without burying them. On the plant side, the layout leans toward background stem plants with species such as Hemianthus callitricoides, Staurogyne repens, Rotala rotundifolia &#8216 — trim in layers so hardscape still breathes. ADA Power Sand, ADA Amazonia v2, ADA Amazonia Powder substrate helps stabilize root-zone nutrition in the early weeks.

Chihiros C II RGB LED lighting sits at a moderate-to-high technical level for this nano tank. Zoomed Nano 10 canister filter filtration needs enough turnovers without blasting the hardscape; browse matching filters. On nano tanks, ramp light intensity over the first 2–3 weeks to limit hair algae.

Livestock (Danio margaritatus, Neocaridina davidi) fits this nano tank — prefer species that will not dig up the substrate and wreck hardscape lines.
