CENOTE

A large aquarium layout featuring CENOTE, 300L, by Rennier Recio Katigbak. The hardscape focus sits on pumice stone, wood slices and tree barks.

Read the stone and wood (pumice stone, wood slices and tree barks) as visual pathways before judging the plant mass. The plant list (Fissidens fontanus) favors mosses and epiphytes; packing the foreground too dense can make the tank feel heavy. white paper substrate helps stabilize root-zone nutrition in the early weeks.

RGB 120Watts x 2 lighting sits at a moderate-to-high technical level for this large aquarium. External filter (1200L/H x 2) filtration needs enough turnovers without blasting the hardscape; browse matching filters.

With Hyphessobrycon innesi, watch bioload: a large aquarium drifts quickly if stocking is heavy.

Setup notes: I used APT complete and APT Water Conditioner throughout the production of this layout
